Central Arizona Mountain Rescue Association (CAMRA), also known as Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Mountain Rescue (MCSO-MR) team, is a highly motivated, expertly trained, technical rescue team dedicated to saving lives through:
  • Search and Rescue Operations
  • Wilderness Emergency Medical Services
  • Outdoor Safety Education
CAMRA/MCSO-MR provides the technical Search and Rescue services to this fifth largest county in the United States (9336 square miles), rising from desert floor to over 7,700 feet. Members of CAMRA/MCSO-MR operate anywhere, anytime, in any weather. The team is a fully accredited member of the Mountain Rescue Association (MRA) and a member of the National Association for Search and Rescue (NASAR).

Do we charge?
CAMRA/MCSO-MR is a non-profit organization comprised entirely of unpaid professionals. Whether you activate us as the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Mountain Rescue Unit (MCSOMR) or as the Central Arizona Mountain Rescue Association (CAMRA), we do not charge for SAR. We survive on donations and grants. Please check our Fundraising section for details.

CAMRA/MCSO-MR meets and exceeds the criteria of a Type I Mountain SAR Resource under the U.S. Federal FEMA / NIMS criteria.
